Install these snow de-icing cables in your roof, gutters and downspouts to prevent winter damage this year. You can prevent costly ice damage from ice dam formation using these roof and gutter de-icing cables to ensure free flow of water from your home’s gutters and downspouts to the ground level. Note that these Easy Heat ADKS snow de-icing cable kits are not designed for flat roofs, metal roofs or on combustible materials. The snow de-icing kit includes a lot of clips for you to attach to the shingles and you can easily install them on your roof and around the house as a DIY project. It takes approximately 30 minutes to install the de-icing cables.
Control expense and energy use in electric roof cable protection automatically with Roof Sentry (RS-2). The RS-2 requires two conditions to be present before it energizes roof deicing cable: cold temperatures (ON, 38-degree F; OFF, 48-degree F) and the presence of runoff water from the roof in contact with its sensor wire. If only one of the conditions exists, the control will not energize the cable.

Each set of HeatTrak Residential Mats and HeatTrak 120V Industrial Stair Mats requires one HR-P Power Unit to connect the system to an electrical outlet. If you don’t buy a HR-P Power Unit for these systems, your mats will not work. This item is not required for HeatTrak Industrial Walkway Mats. The HR-P Power Unit connects your system to a 120V electrical outlet and allows power to flow to the mats. You can connect up to 13 amps on a single Power Unit. If your connected mats (either Residential Mats or 120V Industrial Stair Mats) exceed 13 amps, you will have to split up the mats and add a second Power Unit to plug into a separate outlet. The Power Unit contains a watertight connector that will allow it to connect to the first or last mat in your system. The unit is rainproof and is designed to be left outside for the entire winter season. Power Unit contains a 6 foot cord and inline Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. If your electrical outlet is further than 6 ft away, consider using a watertight cable extender (see Model No. HR-EXT25).

Do make sure you buy the correct length of snow de-icing cable. For example, if you have a 30 feet roof, you will need at least 60 ft of de-icing cables to form a loop about 16″ apart, for effective coverage. Add in the length for the downspout and your gutters if you have one. The Easy Heat snow de-icing cable kits are available in 30-, 60-, 80-, 100-, 120-, 160-, and 200-foot lengths and include all the cable mounting hardware required. These Easy Heat Snow De-Icing Kits are CSA Certified and UL Listed.
